15u Baseball – Rule Change

After witnessing some blowout games and speaking with some coaches, the Southline board has decided to modify the scoring rules for the 15u Baseball Division EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

***NEW RULES REGARDING SCORING***

1.   Half-inning ends after 6 runs are scored.

2.  In the the fourth inning or later, the six-run rule does not apply to the trailing team. The team can score as many runs as necessary to take the lead. Once the lead is taken, the half-inning is over.

3.  12 +1 Rule will be in effect. If a team is up by at least 12 runs any time during an at bat, the teams switch. The trailing team will be bat as usual. If the trailing team is still down by 12 runs, the leading team will be able to bat until 3 outs or a max of 1 run is scored. Once a run is scored, the defensive team returns to bat. This rule is only in effect if a team is up by 12.
